St. Louis zoo

Several weekends ago we traveled to the St. Louis zoo.  We also celebrated Kade's birthday with family who met up with us there.

Cake again?

We bought the passes that allowed us to ride the train (more than once).

Keagan and Kade LOVED the train.  Kade almost fell asleep during the ride.

Poor little guy....Kade finally conked out and actually slept for 1 1/2 hrs.  He missed most of the action...

Kellen's first comment wasn't "Mom - look at the elephant!" It was "Mom - look at that pile of poo!" I about died laughing.

I love this...the train was passing and we were standing at the crossing.  Dad squatted down to get a better look and Keagan looked at him and attempted to do the same thing.  He stayed like that until the train passed.

Precious Ruby....Her little curls were all over the place.  It was sooo hot and sticky.

Mom had bought a squirt bottle with a fan attached. Kellen was the official "Cooler-offer" He sprayed everyone - everywhere - all the time.

I love giraffes.  This particular one was a baby and he was so curious about the ostrich over the wall.  He stayed like that forever!

The picture is dark but this was the penguin exhibit indoors.  I think this was a pretty popular place because they kept this at 45 degrees!  Needless to say it was packed with people.  We were shivering by the end!

There was a new shark exhibit as well.  Of course Karsten went with the two older boys and I gave him the camera...needless to say I have NO pictures.

We had such a great time - I think we will go back again when it's a little cooler.  We were so hot and tired.  The boys were asleep in the van before we even left the parking lot!
