Easter Eggs!

Last friday morning the Oldham's came over and we dyed Easter eggs together. It went pretty well despite one minor accident. Kellen accidently dumped one of the cups of dye. No one was harmed and actually between two pregnant mommies and two three-year-olds nothing else was dropped - I was actually quite surprised!!
Betsy had her Dad's nice camera so I did bum some pictures from her blog :-)
These two were quite rambunctious this morning but they finally calmed down enough to start dying their eggs
These two....I can't believe they are going to be 4 years old this summer. It was just yesterday when Betsy and I were pregnant with them - and now we're pregnant with our thirds!!
They did get some time outside while I grilled some hotdogs. It was still a little chilly and muddy. Poor HK landed in some mud (I thought it was dog poo) but it didn't stop her for long.
Betsy got some great shots of Keagan walking...I hadn't really taken any good pics of him toddling around. So despite him not feeling well the past couple days he was smiling here!

Happy 14 months!!

Yesterday we celebrated the first day of spring with some family outdoor time. We have spent the last few days outside as much as possible. As I'm looking at this picture below I still can't believe that my baby is not a baby anymore!!! Today he turned 14 months!! That "I'm up to no good" look he gives you just makes my heart want to melt and scream at the same time!

Keagan walks short distances but when he wants to get somewhere fast he drops to all fours and crawls really fast. It's driving me crazy that he won't walk further....plus he's just getting too big to carry!
He loved Kellen's tricycle even though he couldn't reach the peddles. He thought he was pretty big stuff. However he was pretty upset with me that I didn't let him eat the sidewalk chalk that they were playing with. Well, Keagan was really just crawling around in it getting his clothes as chalky as possible....along with this mouth and teeth!

Yesterday we went to the fortress of fun. Kellen calls it the fantasy fortress. They both love it outside. We put Keagan on the slide for the first time this spring and he wasn't too sure about it!

"oh, come on Keagan..it'll be alright!!!"

"I think I'm beginning to really like this.....but please don't let go Daddy!!"

I'm so thankful that spring is here! I love being outside as do the boys. I can't wait to see what all this nice weather will bring!

Meeting Miss Ruby

I finally got to see Ruby on thursday morning of last week. She's absolutely precious and such a good baby! She was born Tuesday morning (March 9) and weighed 7.7 and was 20 1/2 in. I was so excited to meet her and I already miss her!
fresh and sweet smelling after a bath
Oh we can't forget Izzy too!!
Her FAVORITE aunt.
I'm so anxious to see her again! I was lucky to have her all to myself that day. No sharing with anyone! Kellen wants to see her now - of course after we get all the way back to Evansville! I can't believe she will be 4 1/2 months or so when my baby is born!!

Play time

Here are some more random play time pictures from this past week.

We had a really nice weekend and spent quite a bit of time outside. It's amazing how a little sun and outdoor time can make you feel so much better!

The first thing Kellen wanted to do outside was DIG! He got down and dirty with his bare hands and was on the hunt for "wiggly worms." And he found some! He was so proud of his accomplishment - he didn't even care that it peed or pooped on him and that it was running down his hands. I thought it was quite disgusting but I bit my tongue!! I'm just trying hard not to be squeamish and let him be a boy.

I just love watching them play together. Kellen LOVES to drive his brother around on the Gator and everytime we go outside Keagan just squeals and points to the gator. He has absolute fits when it's time to go in.

Keagan got ahold of one of Kellen's pull-ups. (Don't worry - it's clean)

And here is the newest toy....it's actually not new. Mom and I found it at a garage sale this summer and we have played with it before but it's been awhile. We got it out one night last week when we were watching the Oldham kids. They loved it and it's been up since!

Speaking of being up.....this was Kellen's idea for a nap one day. No joke!

They are so precious when they fall asleep. Especially in the not-so-ordinary places.

Waiting Patiently!

I'm so ready for winter to be over with I could just scream!! BUT if I want to compare wishing things to be over with.....poor Shannon - a week past her due date. We are so anxious to meet baby ________(oops! I almost said the name!) and I know she is too! So we are sitting here patiently waiting in Evansville ready to make a trip to Springfield and then to Champaign.

So here are just some things that Keagan has been into lately....multiple times a day!

this is just a start

Pulling out the dvds out of the tv stand drawers. Every time I turn around he's at the drawer pulling out the cases and throwing them over his shoulder. It drives us all crazy but I feel like eventually he'll get the hint? I don't really want to drill holes in my furniture to make the things stay shut.

oh and the kleenex boxes!! (yes I know he has a large boogie in one of these pics.) I was attempting to wrestle him down to wipe his nose but I gave up, left the room to grab something and when all was quiet I just knew something was up.

Caught red handed!

Sharing...or showing me the evidence? You won't find a kleenex in our house that isn't partially shredded from constantly pulling and pushing the tissues back in!
Oh I'm sooooo ready for spring!!
