My big helper

This kid LOVES to dust. The other night Kellen and Kade were in bed and Keagan was still up.  I decided that I would dust real quick and Keagan decided he would help.  The following evening, at about the same time Keagan helped himself to the dust rag and went to town.  (For some reason, I think Keagan thought that this was his special chore and it needed to be repeated every evening).

Don't forget behind the t.v.!!

He is constantly trying to get into the cabinet underneath the sink.  He wants to dust all the time and let's face it - I don't like to do it so I'm glad for the help!

Keagan @ 22 months

Oh dear boy.....you're getting closer and closer to the terrible two's.  I think I better brace myself.

Last week Daddy brought out the canned whipped cream.  Need I say more?

Keagan - this past month has yet again flown by.  I'm posting this a week late but I guess it's better late than never!  This month your favorite word has been "look!" and "broken."  You get very upset when your trains come apart and you come running to me yelling and saying "broken broken!"  You and Kellen are really starting to push each others' buttons.  Kellen pesters you and then you do something back at him over and over again.  You have such a senstive heart.  You feel emotions so strongly. You are also soooo sweet to Kade.  You are actually very gentle with him and love to love on him.  Just tonight you crawled up into my lap and said "I seet boy."  I think you were saying "I'm a sweet boy."  It melted my heart.

A Thanksgiving Feast

Last Thursday the mom's morning out program put on a Thanksgiving feast.    The three and four-year-old classes worked the past two weeks to put everything together and it really is a nice lunch!

The four-year-old class sang a couple of songs and then said a prayer.  I have a short video of the program but the lighting is so dark that you can barely see it and the kids were so quiet when they sang so you could hardly understand anything they were saying.

We feasted on ham (the only thing the kids didn't fix), cranberry bread, homeade butter and rolls, corn, beans, carrots...and of course pumpkin pie.  They did such a great job!!

After the feast the kids were allowed to visit some craft tables and do some projects.  Kellen made a turkey out of ritz crackers, hershey kiss, m&ms, and icing.

I can't believe Thanksgiving is in such a few short days......Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

A rare moment

A couple of nights ago I had just finished feeding Kade and was holding him on my lap when Keagan asked (or rather motioned)  if he could hold Kade.  I was so surprised because neither of the boys are usually interested in holding him.  When Kellen saw Keagan holding Kade he had to hold him next.
So of course I grabbed my camera....such a sweet moment

Keagan had to hold him one more time.  Kade started crying soon after this because Keagan was giving him a little too much love. Not sure what Kellen is doing with the remote????

I love these moments....it makes all the tormenting each other moments fade away in my mind.  Temporarily.

Like mother like son

So the other day I was in the kitchen (it seems like I'm always in there) and I looked over to see Keagan doing this:
Yes......he's pumping

His belly button.

His new thing is climbing onto the chairs in the kitchen to see what he can see.  He thinks he is such a big boy by being able to be up high like all the rest of us.  However when I saw him "pumping" I just had to grab my camera instead of saying for the 100th time that day to get down.  He has is down pat....just the wrong anatomy!!

Initiation

Well, Kade finally got introduced to the world of wrestling with Daddy.  Almost every night the older boys wrestle with Karsten while I'm cooking dinner or afterwards.  I told Kellen and Keagan that Kade needed a turn.  So Daddy gave Kade some turns up in the air.....very gently though.

I think he enjoyed himself.  He didn't cry or seem scared.  I think what startles him more is the noise level.  It escalates ten-fold when Karsten gets home.  I've never thought of him as a loud person - but MAN OH MAN does it get loud here during wrestle mania!!

Kade @ 4 months

Wow - has it really been 4 months already?!? I can't believe it. Where has the time gone? It has been a wonderful although exhausting 4 months but I wouldn't trade it for the world.

Tonight we celebrated the 4 month milestone with your first taste of cereal.
Let's just say you LOVED it!! You attacked the spoon like it would be your last meal and you actually did a great job swallowing it.  I was expecting most of it to end up on the bib or your clothes but you did very well!

Last week was your 4 month Dr. appt.  You weighed in at a whopping 17.4 lbs (92nd) percentile and you were 26 in (89th) percentile.  You definitely don't miss many meals!

Of course I had to post some bath pics.

You are becoming more observant of your surroundigs and are trying hard to turn onto your belly.  You'll get onto your sides some days and other days you're content just to lay still and watch your brothers.

Wow what a month it has been!!!  It has a been a roller-coaster month to say the least.  You made a trip to Springfield with me and your brothers and have also had some one-on-one time with mommy when daddy took your brothers to Springfield.  You have gone from taking good naps to lots of cat naps and then all of a sudden the last few days you have taken great naps and started a great schedule.  You also started sleeping 10 hours at the beginning of the month to 12 hours by the end of the month. Then the past few days you decided you don't want to sleep at night any more.....I'm going to go crazy!!  Oh - you also decided you like to sleep  MUCH better on your tummy.  OH let's hope this next month is a little less dramatic.  You are a joy to our family and bring much laughter.  I love you so much and am so thankful for you.  You are such a good baby.

Two cowboys and a monkey

For Halloween the boys dressed up as Cowboys and Kade was a monkey.  I had originally planned on Keagan being a Native American but since I guess that's not P.C. anymore I had to change their costumes.  I had searched all over town for a head dress or feathers of some sort and couldn't find anything.  So we settled with a pair of dueling cowboys.

Keagan took his job very seriously.  He means business.

Trick-or-treating did NOT go well for poor Keagan.  By the time we went to 4 houses he had already scarfed down 4 suckers and I told him no more.  Well I'll just let you imagine what the screaming and fit throwing sounded/looked like.

I wanted all three of the boys together for a picture....obviously the only one who could hold Kade wanted nothing to do with him!

Happy Halloween!

My little monkey

Kade was very good and passed out in the stroller before we got around the block.

A great time trick-or-treating for at least some of us and way too much candy at the end of the night!!

Pumpkin carvings

Friday night was pumpkin carving night.  We have had the pumpkins since the first weekend in October and Kellen and Keagan waited very patiently for this night!
Daddy showing the boys how to make the lid.

We couldn't forget about Kade.

I was telling to boys to dig in....Keagan was reluctant.

These pictures get worse.....

Yep - there we go.  Keagan did NOT like having his hand shoved into the pumpkin by Kellen.

Kellen kept saying "I love getting my hands messy!!"

Showing Kade what all the commotion was about

Like last year we had to do another spider.  We tried to talk Kellen into something else but obviously he got his wish.  He was very into it.

Our headless horseman

I got the boys ready for bed while Karsten took the pumpkins outside and lit them.  They were very excited to say the least.
