Kellen's last lesson

Last Wednesday was Kellen's last swimming lesson. Of course - he finally was warming up to the idea of jumping in, getting his face wet, and actually doggie paddling to the edge. I was pleasantly surprised when he said he wanted to go back. He actually only got out of the pool twice this time and it was to only go hug daddy and Keagan.
Getting ready to jump in. He was very proud of himself - and so was mommy and daddy. Once Kellen decides that something is okay, there is no stopping him.

Keagan's first bites

We got the go ahead from the Dr. that it was okay to start cereal at his 4 month check up. So I started giving him rice cereal after his morning feeding. He seems to really enjoy it - however not so much when it is mixed with formula. Either way, I still can't believe that he's old enough to start eating from a spoon!

"I'm ready mama!!"

"Mmmm Good!! I think I'll eat my hands too!" Keagan still ends up wearing most of it, but that's okay.

"Anymore down there in that bib?"
I love seeing his reaction to the cereal and being fed from the spoon. He already loves sitting in the high chair while we are eating dinner. He just sits there and watches Kellen very closely and smiles.

My new pictures

Thanks to my LOVELY sister Shannon and her talented photo taking, I always have new pictures of my boys. Just think how many pictures her kids will have one day!!
Anyway, just wanted to show off her work:
I know the picture is a little crooked but I was trying to get the flash off the pictures. She is open for business by the way. Visit her entertaining angels photo blog for more information.

A Potty Song

As many of you know, we started Potty training Kellen last week. It's going okay. To get Kellen to sit on the potty one night while Nana Slater was here, she made up a song for Kellen. Kellen caught on quickly and I think it's pretty cute.

4 months old

Keagan is 4 months old today. So of course I had to take pictures:

Kellen decided he needed to wear a hat.

Keagan is rolling side to side - especially when he's trying to keep an eye on Kellen.

So big!

My Growing Boy

We went for Keagan's 4 month check-up this morning. I can't believe that he is already 4 months old.

He loves to watch his big brother - he really adores him. Kellen can get Keagan to smile any time and especially when he's upset. Kellen will say "it's okay lil brother" or "alright sweetie you're fine." It's so funny what he picks up from me.
Here are his stats:
15 lbs, 9 oz. 67th percentile
25 inches 57th percentile

This robe was one of Kellen's. I decided that I needed to put it on Keagan at least once too - however, I couldn't get Keagan's hands through the arm holes!!!

Kellen's new ride(s)

Kellen is finally big enough to pedal his tricycle. We finally got this new accomplishment on video.

As you probably know, Nana and Papa brought a John Deere Gator the last time they visited. Kellen has rode it several times, but is finally getting comfortable on it and can steer it really well. He took his friend Katie (our next door neighbor) for a ride today. We finally are able to make videos with our new computer - so hope you enjoy:

It's finished!!

We worked very hard this morning and finished all the landscaping. YEAH!! Now we just have to clean up the mess.
I'm sure our neighbors are finally glad to see it finished as well.

It's Official

Potty training has begun.
I have been wanting to potty train Kellen for several months now but with Keagan being born in January we put it off. Kellen really didn't show any interest in sitting on the potty either so I didn't push it. Today was a different day though. I had no intentions in starting today. BUT when he wanted to watch his John Deere video I told him if he wanted to watch it I would pull the potty chair into the living room and he could practice sitting on it. Well, much to my surprise he didn't put up too much of a fight. So far we have had no accidents and he's gone #1 once and #2 twice!!! Wish me luck - It might be too good to be true.

Almost done

While we were gone to Springfield this weekend, Karsten worked very hard on the yard and landscaping. I was very impressed with how much he got done. There are still a few bare spots to fill in, but the majority of it is done. I'm pleased with the results so far:

Thank you honey for working so hard!!!

Congratulations Curtis and Keri

This weekend I again ventured to Springfield. Curtis, my cousin tied the knot on Saturday - I can't believe you're married!! The Cosner kids and the Dudley kids were all pretty close growing up. It seems just like yesterday when us girls were trying to gang up on Curtis. It was really nice to see my family although it was such a short weekend. I didn't take many pictures as I was quite preoccupied - but here are a few.
Morgan and our cousin Tara
Mom and Keagan
Kellen and his cheezy smile. He had a lot of fun out on the dance floor with cousin Gracie.

Shannon and Keagan chillin' out. Keagan was quite upset at some of the noises and lights but overall he did pretty good.

OH, my aching tooth!!

It's official - my 3 month old has a tooth! AAAH!

Any time he is awake during the day this is how you will find him. Fingers in his mouth, drenched in drool. Poor guy - the teeth are really bothering him. He has been sleeping 11 hours at night but the last 2 nights he has woken up several times even with tylenol.

I'm feeling a little better now

Thanks big brother for distracting me. I adore my big brother.

A work in progress

Karsten and I have started our landscaping project: actually it's been started for about a month now but since it's been raining about everyday it's slow going. I know our neighbors probably think "are they ever going to get that done?" I can assure you we will! There's only a finite amount of time when Karsten is home, it's not raining, the boys are asleep so I can help him......One more reason to be closer to home honey!!! :-)

Anyway, just thought I would post some pictures of what has been done so far.
This is the back yard around Kellen's sandbox. Since he kept throwing the sand all over the grass we decided to try and contain it. BUT we made the big mistake of putting black mulch down. It's making a huge mess. It is dying his sandbox black - not to mention the dogs feet and Kellen's hands and feet! So we will be removing it and replacing it with rock.
Part of our front yard: We extended the landscaping and are receiving our two trees and a truck load of mulch tomorrow. I'm so excited! I hope it doesn't rain too much so we can get those things planted!!!
Hopefully we can finish up this week - if it doesn't rain too much!!!

A week in Springfield

Last week I took the kids to Springfield for the first time by myself. The trip went fairly smooth and now I know I can do it again.

We had a pretty busy and eventful week:

Aunt Karla and Uncle Rob were driving through last week on their way back to Canada and stopped in to see the boys.

This was their first time seeing Keagan

Aunt Gail also stopped by: This would be Keagan's Great-Great-Aunt!!!

We visited the Grandmas

Keagan turned 3 months old!!

Kellen spent a lot of time with Pa in the field since it's planting season. Mom and Kellen mowed with the new Gravely mower. I also tried it and I decided that a mower should NOT go that fast! I just about decapitated myself over by the pine trees. I did help out mowing a little - dad gave me the sections where its just weeds over by the barn. That way you couldn't tell how poor of a job I did! Seriously have you ever been on one of these mowers? It's wild.

We celebrated Poppa's birthday - Happy Birthday Poppa!!!
Kellen also had his first sleep over with cousin Kobe and Kaylee. I know he had a great time - however I didn't get any pictures.

Keagan had his first cookout/weiner roast.
Kellen filled in all the crawl-dad holes down by the creek.

He also had a lot of fun with Grandma Dudley's blind stick. He loves that thing.
We had a great time visiting with everyone but I was ready to come home at the same time. It was a hard trip doing it by myself. Maybe next time Karsten will be able to enjoy it with us.

We're Back!

No, we did not drop off the face of the earth - however our computer did!

We got a new computer today so hopefully I'll be back to blogging as soon as we get all the programs and stuff onto the new computer!
