odds and ends

I was digging through some picture files today and came across some random non-blog-posted pictures.  I figured I would just post these to get them out of the way.

Of course I had to post a bath tub picture.  Who can resist? Not me!

This picture is from over a month ago....Keagan loving on Kade.  I think these two will be good buddies if Keagan learns how to live without Kellen dictating his every move.  Poor middle child!

Big boy eating his crackers.  He is really loving his mum mum crackers and puffs.

I picked up these swim covers at Ikea in January.  I brought them out for the boys to wear to the indoor water park we went to earlier this month.  Aren't they cute? (I mean the covers....not the kids....)

Well, in other news....all 3 of my children have been diagnosed with Pertussis.....yes, I said pertussis!  It's pretty miserable around here but we're making it through.  And yes we are all immunized against it....or so we thought!

Ruby turns 1!!!

 Miss Ruby Evangeline

Aren't those curls and that dress sooooo adorable!!

OOOH!!
Ruby didn't quite know what to do but eventually got the hang of it...

My big girl chair

Kellen had a lot of fun with the boxes

Grandma and Kellen (the cowboy)

When I told Kellen that we were going to a party he must have thought it was a costume party.  It was a "tea party" birthday party for Ruby...but hey I guess there is always a first for everything.

I wish I would have taken pictures of the decorations and everything....it was adorable.  Shannon outdid (is that a word?) herself as usual.  It was a great birthday party and we were so glad to be with Ruby!!

Going somewhere?

These past few weeks Kade has really started moving.  He rolls everywhere and anywhere he wants to go.  This past week he actually got up on all fours and rocked back and forth.  He doesn't have the concept of crawling down yet.  He will roll over and over again and then spin and head another direction.

The other day all 3 boys were playing on the floor together and I was doing some things around the house.  Kellen comes running to find me hollering "mommy mommy! You have to come see this!!"

And there he was....underneath the buffet table.

"Mama look at me! I'm so big!!"

Now I have to try and get out of here!

I was only out of the room for a couple of minutes and he had made it from the kitchen all the way across the room to underneath the table.

He also found out how to get from sitting up to on his tummy.
Although most times he just lets himself plop over.....but hey whatever works!

I can't believe that in a few short weeks I may have a mobile baby! Although maybe he won't do anything for awhile either....that's okay buddy - you take your time! I'm in no hurry!

A weekend away

Last weekend we traveled to French Lick, IN for a trip to their indoor waterpark.  This was our first (and hopefully not the last) trip with the Oldhams.  The grandparents kept the youngest two of our clans....THANKFULLY!  There was no way we would have been able to do everything we did with the babies in tow.

This is the big splash with two water slides.  The kids played on these a lot but my two were pretty cautious.  They never got brave enough to go down by themselves so of course mommy and daddy went down many times.

This was the "big kid" waterslide.  Betsy and I and the two guys took turns going down these.  We had a blast.

The kiddie pool was a lot of fun too.  Keagan went down so many times I lost count....and by himself too.

The boys were pretty cold most of the time.  Kellen took many turns on my lap wrapped up in a towel.

Nolan and Keagan kind of look alike in the picture!

Saturday evening all 8 of us went to eat at the Boatyard.  (The restaurant in the hotel).  It was AWFUL to say the least.  Kellen heard me say how horrible the food was and he said "MOMMY!  Mine was delicious!"

Kellen waiting patiently for his "crab legs."  This kid has been DYING to eat crab legs.  We ordered him popcorn shrimp (because they didn't have crab) and he took out the shrimp from the outside batter/fried coating and ate the shrimp plain.  I was ready to GAG!
Luckily breakfast the next morning redeemed the restaurant.

Attempting a photo op........

I LOVE this picture.  Don't ask me what is going on here though!
The two houligans

This picture is just precious.  All three boys holding hands.  We were getting ready to leave and they had to admire the place one more time.  I think they were waiting patiently for the 1000 gallon bucket of water to dump and splash everyone.

We had a great time and can't wait to go back! We are heading back next year with the Slater side for Christmas!!!

Kade at 8 months

I'm 8 months old!!

Oh my dear sweet boy. Another month gone by.....

You are really a sweet and cuddly little guy.  But this past week you have been having a hard time with getting your two bottom first teeth.  They are driving you crazy I know!

What I really can't believe is how much things have changed since last month.  You are able to feed yourself crackers and puffs.  You are still working on your pincer grasp.  You are doing really well with raking the food into your hands and then your mouth though.

You are not crawling but you roll to wherever you want to go.  (I have more pictures of that to post).  I will leave the room for 2 minutes and you are at the opposite side of the room when I get back.  I am soooo not ready for a mobile baby!!

You are such a good natured baby and I am thoroughly enjoying your babyhood.  I can't wait to see what the next month brings.

I don't know how much you weigh right now but I'm guessing 21 pounds.  The crazy thing is I just got out the 18 month tote to find you some pjs! You are only 8 months old....this cannot be! But it's true and I guess I'll just have to except it.

I love you dear boy! Happy 8 months

Nice days and imaginations...

A couple of weeks ago we had a couple days of beautiful weather.  It was such a nice break for the boys.  We have been so cooped up and it seems like someone has been sick since January.  So we took full advantage of sweatshirt weather and stayed outside as long as we could.

Kellen is really showing interest in golf as well as soccer and t-ball.  He probably hit golf balls and/or kick balls for at least 1 1/2 hours that morning.  That's a long time for him!

Keagan loves t-ball the best.  He loves to carry the bat around with him and hit things (other than balls).  Hence the name we call him....bam bam.

I think we went on a walk two nights in a row.  It was a little windy one of the days but we still enjoyed it!

Kellen and Keagan love to play on the club house.  Here they were taking my "order."  Keagan was giving me my change.

Then they were snipe hunting.  There were "bad guys" over the fence that they had to shoot.

The following day Keagan contintued playing with the guns.  I was washing dishes and fixing dinner and I looked up to see this.  "Don't move or I"ll shoot!"

and this......Kade thought it was pretty funny.  But Keagan thought the gun needed to go further down his throat....so then he didn't think it was too funny after that.

This day they were cowboys so Kellen dragged out Winston the horse.  Of course I had to get a picture of Kade on it.  It was too cute to pass up.

Kellen and Kade riding together.  Kellen did a good job of holding him.
I can't wait for nice weather!

Oh the mess!!!

I turn my back for one moment.....

and this is what I get.
Keagan: "What? Am I doing something wrong?"

We have officially put our house on the market and I have been cleaning out closets and decluttering.  Well, I guess Keagan thought he would get a head start on his closet.  I may go crazy.
