Friday we went to Keagan's "well-baby" 12-month check-up. I know he wasn't well this time so we got 2 for 1.
We have all been battling illnesses for the last week or so and frankly I'm tired of it! Anyway to report his stats:
weight 23.1 lbs
height 31 1/4 in
head 45 cm
I think he's in the 59% for weight now and 89% for height.
However he got diagnosed with our first ever ear infection. He has been quite whiny and I though it was two more bottom teeth coming in (which they have) and he's just had the normal cold/runny nose. He got put on an antibiotic and the poor babe broke out in a head to toe rash. So we had to go through the on call dr., get a new script and then I received the blessed GI bug!
Germs Germs go away!!

Happy 1st Birthday Keagan
Happy Birthday Keagan!! I can't believe you just turned one year today!! This time last year I was bringing you home from the hospital and the following week we were iced in!!
You have grown so much in the last year I can hardly believe it. You're such a big boy and you admire your brother so much. You want to do everything he does. All I have to say is watch out Kellen!! As soon as you're walking Kellen will never be able to get away from you!!
You are completely off the bottle and baby food. Somedays you eat anything I put on your plate and other days you're picky. You LOVE meat and cheese and bananas the most.
You sleep like a champ at night 12-13 hours. You still take two naps a day but they usually are about 1 1/2 hours each.
I love you more every day! I can't wait to see what this year will bring!
On your birthday on thursday we let you open some gifts. Kellen could hardly wait to give you presents.
Friday night was the actual birthday party night. We celebrated with friends and family. You really loved the balloons and kept calling them balls.
Patiently waiting for the cake.
The cake - fyi........you're poop is still red!
First bite....
And about the last bite....you loved it! We had to put you and the highchair in the bathtub. I'm still picking pieces of cake out of it. I'm sure glad I stripped your clothes before you ate the cake.

A little bit of everything
Just some random shots over the last couple of weeks. We haven't been doing much of anything these last few weeks -- just trying to stay warm and occupied inside.
We watched the Oldham kids a couple of weeks ago and forgot that I had these picures. HK and Kellen wanted to dress up - and they wanted to be pirates...oh excuse me - Captain Hook.

Kids say the darndest things......
So last night we were watching America's Funniest Videos. Kellen really likes the show so we watch it quite often. This particular clip had an elderly woman with dentures and what must have been her young grandson playing with the dentures. He had either tongs or plyers or something and was pulling her dentures out of her mouth. Kellen was watching very intently and the look on his face was priceless! You just had to be there to see it. His eyeballs were the size of tennis balls and he kept saying "oh mommy..oh mommy...." he was about ready to cry!! I then explained about dentures and how important it is to take care of our teeth so we don't have to have dentures. He then said in his most serious 3 year old voice....."mommy....I can't let that happen to me..." It was sooooo cute! I about keeled over from laughing so hard. Needless to say I didn't have any problems with him brushing his teeth before bed! While he was brushing he kept saying "I can't let that happen....I don't want "densures.""
Oh priceless!!
Oh priceless!!

Our first snow of the season
Well, I did it - I braved the snow yesterday morning. I usually don't like to just play in the snow unless we're sledding or skiing. However, Kellen really wanted to go outside and I was afraid it would be too cold by the time Karsten could take him this weekend. So while Keagan was sleeping this morning we headed out.
Here he is all bundled up in his new gear. Nana and Pa got both the boys new snowsuits and Kellen also got some boots. I guess she should've bought the nice sled she was planning on buying but Karsten and I talked her out if it! We didn't think we would get much use out of it!
Trying to wipe the snow off. He was really busy cleaning off all the tables and playhouse.
Bailey and Murphy love the snow too. Kellen had a lot of fun sprinkling more snow on the dogs. Needless to say I was the one who had to clean them off before they came inside!

We had a lot of fun and Kellen stayed out there for about 45 minutes while I froze watching him play and helping him clean off his slide.
